On DECEMBER 7 2024, the Skills in Demand (SID) visa replaced the Temporary Skills Shortage (TSS) visa.
The Skills in Demand visa is a temporary visa that allows an employer to sponsor a skilled worker from abroad to fill a position when they are unable to find a qualified Australian for that position.
Any TSS nominations and visa applications submitted before the introduction of the SID visa will be processed according to the requirements in effect at the time the application was made.
If your employer has submitted a TSS nomination and you haven’t applied for your corresponding TSS visa by 7 December 2024, once the nomination is approved, it will be considered a SID nomination, and you can then submit a related application for a SID visa. If you
