Job Description
As an Indian Cuisine Chef, you will be responsible for preparing and presenting high-quality Indian dishes, ensuring that each plate reflects authenticity, innovation, and impeccable presentation. The ideal candidate should have deep knowledge of Indian spices, culinary traditions, and modern techniques.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare a wide range of traditional and contemporary Indian dishes, ensuring consistency in quality, flavor, and presentation.
- Develop and innovate new menu items while maintaining the authenticity of Indian cuisine.
- Manage kitchen operations, including food preparation, hygiene, and safety standards.
- Supervise and train kitchen staff to maintain efficiency and quality during peak service times.
- Monitor inventory, order supplies, and manage stock to ensure the availability of fresh ingredients.
- Adhere to food safety regulations and maintain cleanliness in all kitchen areas.
Requirements:
- Proven experience as an Indian Cuisine Chef.
- Relevant culinary qualifications are desired, with at least a Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery, and preferably an additional Diploma/Advanced Diploma of Hospitality.
- Minimum of two years of work experience as a Chef in a commercial kitchen.
- Strong knowledge of Indian spices, herbs, and cooking techniques.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced kitchen environment and manage high volumes during peak times.
- Leadership skills to manage and motivate the kitchen team.
- Passion for creating flavorful, authentic dishes with attention to detail.
- Understanding of food safety standards and best practices in a professional kitchen.
